Why Engage With Us?

Volunteering, internships and employee engagement will be offered at Unnati ISEC's tribal field areas in Maharashtra — specifically in the Melghat region (Akola district) and Dharpur block (Thane district).

Volunteers and interns experience life in a tribal village firsthand, working alongside children and communities to support education, library activities, data collection, and social sector work. This is not just a CV line — it is a change in perspective.

📋 Preferred Stays

Skills in software fields, content creation, reporting, data analysis, translating Marathi to English or Hindi to English, planning events, writing articles, or photography/videography are especially welcome.

With Children

  • Mathematics sessions for children in primary and secondary grades

👧 P.Y.I. Volunteering Activities — With Children ▾
  • Children, youths, adults from tribal villages
  • With children from primary and secondary grades: Maths sessions using play-way methods, Art sessions, Language games / Language fairs, Science games
  • Organise day picnics and educational excursions for a group of children
  • Preparing Teaching material which will be used in role-classes (e.g. puppets, charts, flash cards, innovative teaching tools, etc.)

  • UK short training will be provided to volunteers on the sessions to be conducted (Dos and Don'ts, orientation of tribal culture)

Costs & Logistics

Unnati ISEC will make the homestay arrangements available in the village; the cost of which will be borne by the volunteer.

Food & Lodging Approx. Rs. 350–550 per day. Simple but very clean accommodation in a village on sharing basis with basic amenities. Mostly vegetarian food, occasionally non-vegetarian.

Travel to Field Rs. 1,000–1,500 one-way (train + bus/cab) depending on the class. Travel is mainly by train. An overnight journey from Mumbai and Pune.

Field Travel Rs. 100–300 per day (including petrol and vehicle charges) for visiting the field and conducting sessions.
🏕️
Home-Based Option For volunteers unable to travel — data entry, translation, social media, design and writing tasks can be done remotely with no cost involved.
